Nextorage Introduces New G Series ME Gaming SSD
Nextorage has recently unveiled its latest G Series ME gaming SSD, specifically designed for compact gaming PCs and tablet PCs. This M.2 2230 SSD combines high-speed PCIe 4.0 performance with power-saving DRAM-less technology.
The G Series ME boasts impressive specifications, with sequential read speeds of up to 7,400 MB/s and write speeds of up to 6,200 MB/s. Additionally, random read and write speeds are rated at 750,000 IOPS and 850,000 IOPS respectively. Available in 1 TB and 2 TB models, these drives offer write endurance of 600 TBW and 1,200 TBW respectively, both backed by a five-year warranty.
Featuring single-sided 3D TLC NAND Flash, both models ensure compatibility with M.2 2230 slots and improved cooling thanks to top-mounted NAND. The SSD utilizes DRAM-less technology, using the latest controller and 3D TLC NAND flash to achieve a balance between speed and power efficiency.
To address the lack of DRAM caching, Nextorage has implemented a "Large-capacity Dynamic SLC Cache," which converts unused space into an SLC cache for enhanced performance. The company claims that the DRAM-less design offers advantages in power consumption and operating temperatures, potentially reducing thermal throttling and providing a more comfortable gaming experience.
Currently available in the Japanese market, the 1 TB model is priced at approximately $149, while the 2 TB version costs around $265. Worldwide availability dates have not been confirmed yet.
