Intel's Panther Lake Processors

Intel's Panther Lake Processors

Intel's upcoming processors, codenamed "Panther Lake", are set to be the third generation of Core Ultra mobile chips. Referred to as the Core Ultra 300 series, these CPUs are expected to follow the "Lunar Lake" processors. Recent leaks suggest that Panther Lake-H will be produced using Intel's advanced 18A process node. These chips are rumored to include Cougar Cove P-Cores, Skymont E-Cores, and Xe3 (Celestial) integrated graphics, building upon Intel's hybrid core design for improved performance on mobile devices.

The leaked information indicates that Panther Lake-H will offer a variety of configurations, particularly in the high-performance variant of the lineup. These configurations range from efficient 25 W parts to more powerful 45 W options, with some models reportedly featuring up to 18 cores in total. This is an increase from the previously believed 16 cores. Here are some of the leaked SKUs:

  • PTL-H 4+8+4+4Xe 25 W
  • PTL-H 4+8+4+12Xe 25 W
  • PTL-H 4+0+4+4Xe 25 W
  • PTL-H 6+8+4+4Xe 45 W
  • PTL-H 6+8+4+12Xe 28 W

One interesting aspect of the leak is the inclusion of powerful integrated graphics in certain models. Some SKUs are rumored to have 12 Xe3 GPU cores, even in lower-power 25 W and 28 W configurations, potentially enhancing graphics performance in thin and light laptops. Higher-wattage SKUs, like the 45 W model, are expected to have higher clock speeds. While these specifications may change before the official release, they offer a glimpse into Intel's future mobile offerings. The Panther Lake series is anticipated to launch in the second half of 2025, pending successful development at Intel HQ.
