Intel's Upcoming Arc "Battlemage" G21 GPU

Intel's upcoming Arc "Battlemage" G21 GPU has been spotted in Geekbench benchmarks, providing a sneak peek into the future of the company's discrete graphics offerings. This next-generation GPU, part of Intel's Xe2 graphics architecture, demonstrates impressive performance that nearly matches the current Arc A770 in initial tests. The benchmark results showcase a GPU with 20 Xe2 cores, equivalent to 160 CUs, and a clock speed of 2,850 MHz. With 12 GB of memory, this model seems to target the mid-range market segment.

Identified by the PCI ID "8086:E20B" and labeled as "Intel Xe Graphics RI," the GPU achieved a score of 97,943 points in Geekbench 6's OpenCL test. This score places it in close competition with the Arc A770 and NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4060, indicating strong performance within its category. The test setup included the Battlemage GPU, an Intel Core i5-13600K CPU, and 32 GB of DDR5-4800 memory, providing a reliable platform for assessment.

It is worth noting that while early benchmarks show weaker OpenCL performance, Intel has not historically focused on this API. The final performance is expected to be higher in real-world scenarios using DirectX 12 or Vulkan APIs, potentially positioning it as a competitor to NVIDIA and AMD solutions.
