ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) Virtual Assistant Update

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) Virtual Assistant Update

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced a major update to its Virtual Assistant software, previously known as Virtual Pet. This new software is now included with the ROG Zephyrus G16 gaming laptop and utilizes AI technology to enhance the capabilities of the Virtual Assistant. The update includes features such as intelligent chat and Q&A interface, document summarization, and voice transcription tools. This update is available for laptops with AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors as a free download through ASUS Live Update.

Intelligent Chat Support

The Virtual Assistant now offers a chat and Q&A feature to assist users in navigating unfamiliar programs or system tools. Even without an internet connection, users can rely on the Virtual Assistant to help them find and activate the features they need. For example, users can request assistance with adjusting fan settings, and the Virtual Assistant will guide them to the appropriate menu within the Armoury Crate app. This feature supports applications like MyASUS, GlideX, and ProArt Creator Hub, providing additional support for end users.

Powerful Personal Librarian

Using the Llama 3 language model, the Virtual Assistant includes a text document summarization feature known as the Librarian. This feature can efficiently summarize large and complex documents, making it easier for users to search and reference information within a document using the Virtual Assistant chat bot. This feature enhances the accessibility of complex documents while ensuring user data privacy.

Voice Transcription

The Virtual Assistant now includes a transcription and summarization functionality based on the Whisper model, an automatic speech recognition (ASR) model developed by OpenAI. This feature accurately transcribes and summarizes voice recordings, allowing users to quickly create meeting minutes with key insights from conversations.

Support Across ASUS Laptop Family

This update is preloaded on the AMD-powered Zephyrus G16, but is also available as a free download for select AI-ready laptops from ASUS. TUF Gaming models A14, A16, and A18 are supported, as well as ProArt models PX13 and P16. Zenbook S16 and ASUS Vivobook S14 OLED, S15 OLED, and S16 OLED can all access the Virtual Assistant update through MyASUS, unlocking the full potential of these machines.
