DDR5 Memory Prices in Germany Reach Record Highs
DDR5 memory prices in Germany are experiencing a significant surge, according to the latest analysis from 3D Center. July has brought a 7% month-over-month increase in DDR5 kit prices, compounding already elevated costs and pushing DDR5 memory to unprecedented highs. This follows a period of relative stability earlier in the year, with minor price drops in March and June, but the upward trend has now resumed with renewed momentum.
Compared to July 2025, the average price of DDR5 memory has soared by an astonishing 448%. Over the past year, prices have more than quadrupled, largely due to dramatic increases between October 2025 and January 2026. These persistent price hikes have made it increasingly difficult for PC enthusiasts and DIY builders to afford memory upgrades or new system builds.
Industry Outlook: Supply Chain Challenges and Future Projections
The outlook for DDR5 pricing remains uncertain. ADATA Chairman Chen Li-bai has indicated that it could take up to a decade for the global DRAM supply chain to achieve stability. This long-term forecast suggests that high prices may persist well into the next decade, affecting not only DDR5 memory but also related components such as GPUs, which are similarly impacted by DRAM costs.
Industry experts anticipate that only after 2030 will there be clearer insights into whether the demand for DRAM, NAND Flash, and increased computing power will continue through 2040 or even 2050. For now, consumers and PC builders must contend with ongoing price volatility and the likelihood of continued increases, as supply chain constraints and robust demand shape the market landscape.
