Exciting Games Coming to Xbox in 2024

Xbox players have a lot to look forward to this year. During the recent Developer_Direct show, we got an in-depth look at five new games that will be launching on Xbox Series X|S, PC, Game Pass, and/or cloud later in 2024. The development teams at Xbox, Bethesda, and one of our third-party partners opened their studios to showcase extended gameplay and reveal key information about these upcoming games. Each team provided new details and gave us a glimpse of what's to come in 2024. All four of these games will be available on day one with Game Pass, making it another fantastic year for our members with a wide selection of incredible games.

Avowed—Launching Fall 2024

Game Director Carrie Patel took us on a deep dive into the gameplay of Obsidian's highly anticipated fantasy action RPG, Avowed. She highlighted its dynamic combat, reactive gameplay, and the "colorful, vibrant, strange" world set in the Living Lands. Avowed stays true to Obsidian's style of creating games with deep themes and player choice. Not only will your narrative decisions have an impact on the game's progression, but Avowed also offers a range of combat choices. Gameplay Director Gabe Paramo discussed the variety of weapons available, including melee weapons, ranged guns and bows, and magic-based wands (you can even dual-wield wands!). He also emphasized the flexibility of combat, allowing players to quickly switch loadouts for different enemy encounters. This means you can approach combat in a way that suits your playstyle.

Art Director Matt Hansen then described the Living Lands, a mysterious island composed of diverse regions with visually stunning backdrops and intriguing settings to explore. Each region has hidden secrets, including barren deserts, lush forests, blighted wastes, volcanic biomes, and more.
