Framework Unveils Mini-PC Platform Featuring AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495
Framework has introduced its first mini-PC qualification platform powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor. First showcased at Computex earlier this year, the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 represents a significant advancement over its predecessor, the Ryzen AI Max+ 395. The new processor supports up to 192 GB of unified memory—a 50% increase from the previous 128 GB limit—enabling the deployment of much larger AI models, including those with up to 300 billion parameters, as well as supporting multiple concurrent agentic AI workflows.
Enhanced Specifications for Advanced AI Workloads
The specifications of Framework’s test platform were confirmed via its Insyde UEFI splash screen, which identified the processor as the "AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 with Radeon 8065S." The system is equipped with 192 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory, maximizing the processor’s expanded memory capabilities. The integrated Radeon 8065S graphics is a minor update over the previous 8060S, offering a slightly higher engine clock for improved performance.
Focus on AI Development and Enterprise Features
AMD is set to officially launch the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 400 series later this year, positioning it primarily as a platform for AI development and inferencing. The standout feature of the PRO 495 over the Ryzen AI Max 300 series is its support for 192 GB of memory, catering to the needs of advanced AI applications and research. Additionally, AMD has standardized its PRO feature set across the series, providing robust remote management capabilities comparable to Intel vPro, making it an attractive option for enterprise and professional environments.
